TRAIN OF THOUGHT

ABOUT ME

IMG_3923.JPG

Normally, I'm a 20-year-old journalism student at Simmons University in Boston, MA, but as of February 2020––I am an SIT pupil studying genocide and reconciliation in Rwanda. Instead of recounting my adventures abroad via email, text, or (my personal favorite) phone calls to my mom, I decided to cut out the middleman and create a blog to directly share my Rwandan experiences with you!

MY PICK

OF THE MONTH

Parasite

https://slate.com/culture/2019/10/parasi

This month's movie pick has to be Bong-Joon-ho's Parasite. The two-hour film is completely in South Korean, but the language barrier certainly doesn't take away from the eye-gluing plot that only seems to intensify up to the last moment. The movie highlights the strength of greed and intellect through extreme socioeconomic contrasts between two families: one wealthy and naive, the other poor and quick-witted. I watched this movie on a plane and was quickly impressed with the expressive and theatrical characterization performed by each actor. I definitely recommend giving Parasite a try.
